OPERATIONAL CHANGES IN DIVISION 2

Click here for map of District & Division Boundaries.

South Placer Fire District’s operational costs have increased faster than its sources of revenue. This is largely a result of inflation, wildfire risk, increased state-mandated safety standards, and rising public safety concerns. The District is not funded by the County or the State, and instead relies on small portions of property taxes and an additional static, special tax paid by individual property owners.

After a recent benefits assessment and unsuccessful ratification of the Proposition 218 Ballot initiative, the District voted to make operational changes that meet the current fiscal reality.

The District’s following changes will directly impact communities of Granite Bay, Loomis, and the southern areas of Penryn and Newcastle:

  • Closure of Station 15 – located in Granite Bay at 4650 East Roseville Parkway. Personnel will be reallocated and resume operation of the previously closed Station 16, located in Granite Bay at 5300 Olive Ranch Road.
  • Closure of Station 19 – located in Granite Bay at 7070 Auburn Folsom Road. Personnel will be reallocated to surrounding stations.
  • Removal of 1 specialized truck from fleet – used for search and rescue efforts, fire ventilation, and salvage operations.

We appreciate your support during this transition and will continually reevaluate all aspects of performance and make additional changes, as needed, within our new budget parameters.

For questions or concerns regarding station closures, please call South Placer Fire District at 916-791-7059 or email contact@southplacerfire.org. As always. . .
